Flight of the Tanners

Today is October 18th and its Moving day. Nate and Lyndsey came down to help load up my mom’s car and their suburban with all our luggage We had a sweet entourage of my mom and the Hightowers that took us to the airport and helped get us to security. We shared hugs, a big prayer and lots of tears. Delta workers were super helpful getting the cats registered and the baggage checked. TSA precheck is the way to go and security was a breeze (with cats on harnesses and all) We ended up all getting seats in Delta Comfort + and were very relieved and thankful. After dinner and a few movies, the twins walked the aisle, brushed teeth and got their melatonin gummy (no judgement please, it’s not a walk in the park traveling with 4 kids and 2 cats!) The twins slept pretty much all the way to landing. The boys slept on and off and I really just rested my eyes and calmed the cats during some turbulence pockets. When we landed we reached Passport Control. This is where I was sweating  bullets with getting the cats into Germany. I just kept thinking “Oh my gosh what if these cats get deported for something?” I felt I did all my homework and had all paperwork completed but there is always some fear when traveling overseas and you have no control over it! I handed my copy of Matt’s orders and all of our passports. Noah and I held the cat carriers and the officer just looked at the orders, looked at each passport and each kid and said welcome to Germany. That was it! We were in! We waited for the luggage and car seats and that is where the melt downs began… I was ok with that because I knew Matt was parking our “borrowed” 15 passenger van and was ready to help load up and go to our new home in Herrenberg. The drive was about 25 minutes and everyone was in good spirits! Guten Morgan Deutschland! (Good morning Germany)
